A Driving Lesson Wins the Prestigious Lou Costello Award for
Best Comedy Short at the Garden State Film Festival

April 2008 Stanfordville, NY: Darren Press and C. Fraser Press, partners in May Sky Entertainment, have announced that their short film, A Driving Lesson, has won the prestigious Lou Costello Award for best comedy short at the 2008 Garden State Film Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

"What a great honor" says Darren Press. "Many thanks to the Garden State Film Festival for hosting a wonderful event and for supporting our work. And to Lou Costello for being that silly, hilarious character we always root for - it's amazing how he has stood the test of time when things today come and go so fast. One can only dream to have that kind of staying power in anything they do."

Set on a lovely autumn day, A Driving Lesson tells the story of what happened when a psychologist, Dr. Leslie Laurel, takes her daughter Brooke out for a driving lesson on a quiet country road.  Unfortunately Leslie is unable to pry herself away from her cell phone and the needy patients on the other end, and Brooke is a teenager unable to pry herself away from her own adolescent exasperation.  Typical mother daughter friction, until, Brooke hits a small animal, Leslie's patient begins talking suicide and silence is broken on the quiet country road when an elderly couple come barreling along in their Station Wagon.

A Driving Lesson features a highly decorated cast and crew including TONY nominated and EMMY Award winner Elaine Bromka, famous for her role as the mom in the film Uncle Buck, EMMY nominee Marge Redmond, veteran Broadway actor Paul Barry and newcomer Hannah Fordin,
