Glamour Magazine selects the short film comedy A Driving Lesson
for its 2008 Glamourfilmfest.tv online film festival

January 2008 Stanfordville, NY: Darren Press and C. Fraser Press, co-founders of May Sky Entertainment have announced that A Driving Lesson is an official selection to Glamour Magazine’s Glamourfilmfest.tv online film festival. Glamourfilmfest selects the best shorts from the festival circuit chosen by Hollywood insiders.

“I’m honored to be selected for this,” says A Driving Lesson Writer/Director C. Fraser Press. “I’m always thrilled for the opportunity to reach a broader audience.”

Set on a lovely autumn day, A Driving Lesson tells the story of what happened when a psychologist, Dr. Leslie Laurel, takes her daughter Brooke out for a driving lesson on a quiet country road.  Unfortunately Leslie is unable to pry herself away from her cell phone and the needy patients on the other end, and Brooke is a teenager unable to pry herself away from her own adolescent exasperation.  Typical mother daughter friction, until, Brooke hits a small animal, Leslie's patient begins talking suicide and silence is broken on the quiet country road when an elderly couple come barreling along in their Station Wagon.

A Driving Lesson features a highly decorated cast and crew including TONY nominated and EMMY Award winner Elaine Bromka, famous for her role as the mom in the film Uncle Buck, EMMY nominee Marge Redmond, veteran Broadway actor Paul Barry and newcomer Hannah Fordin,

“Nothing is less steady in life than relationships.” Says writer and director C. Fraser Press. “Navigating them, learning from them, honoring them is our lifelong journey. This is what I like to read about, to watch in a theatre and what I aim to write about.” Press further says, “I’ve been fascinated with small, unexpected moments, interruptions, in our lives…. this is what happens to all four of my characters entangled briefly on a still country road, they are noisy in their miscommunication, they are noisy in their humanity, they can’t seem to help leaving their mark.”

The husband and wife team of Darren and C. Fraser Press have collaborated before on numerous projects including the New York productions of the critically acclaimed one-woman show, Why we Don’t Bomb the Amish written/performed by C. Fraser Press and directed by Darren Press and Checkpoint, a play written/directed by Darren Press featuring C. Fraser Press.
